Monday we had Family Home Evening with the Branch, it was a lot of fun! There were four or five less active members that came out!
Tuesday was pretty uneventful, we didn't get to go to taco bell after district meetings, cause our cards were out of money haha! We did get to go see Prim and Bunthorn though, it was good, Prim is learning a lot more than he has in the past, it's awesome!
Wednesday not alot happened, we had a lesson with Saruath and then went Downtown for lunch. There is this burger place called Crossburger that is super good, in case any one is in downtown Oakland any time soon haha!
Thursday we had some service in the morning, and the food place we go help at had a ton of factory second doritos (sounds scary but all is well) and we got to take like four bags. factory second doritos are doritos that have too much cheese stuff on them, and they are delicious. we went to teach Max, a less active member, and after we finished the lesson he called all his kids in, which he refused to do at the beginning, and when they came in he asked them if they wanted to get baptized, which I mean is cool and all, but it was one of the most awkward moments of my life, he just kept asking why they didn't want to get baptized and they got mad at him and he got upset and it was really weird, but it was hilarious. Later we went to see Sambath Nhep. It was fun! the wests came with us one last time too! We went to teach someone named anthony who is a less active in san leandro, it was a good night.
Friday we had the usual studies, planning, lesson with Jonathan, dance practice, not too crazy.
Saturday, we had a very different day. We went to San Jose for the day! We met a lot of Cambodians, but we didn't end up teaching a lesson all day, which was a little disappointing for us, but we went out with a Cambodian Member there named Volak, and he is incredible. He has had a very interesting life, and the Church has made all the difference in giving him a good direction and a real purpose. He was awesome and took us to every cambodian that he knew. Good day. San Jose is pretty cool.
Sunday was Branch Conference! It was fun to have to stake presidency with us, they were great. For sacrament Elder Hibbert and I sang Nearer my God to Thee in Cambodian haha, it was interesting, but the stake presidency thought it was amazing, so in the end it was good!
I am really grateful for the area I'm in, so many people are trying so hard to be more like Christ, and I am so blessed to be able to be on the end of their efforts. I love the Cambodian people and I love my Savior. The Church is true, Sorry I don't have much to say today haha, make sure you pray and read and go to church!! Love you all!
Elder Tolman
